Surgical Innovations client win

Surgical Innovations Group plc (AIM: SUN), the designer and manufacturer of creative solutions for minimally invasive surgery, has appointed Walbrook PR Ltd as its Financial PR advisor. Walbrook will advise Surgical Innovations on its communications with the financial media, research analysts and other small cap investor groups in London and the regions.

Surgical Innovations specialises in the design and manufacture of creative solutions for use in minimally invasive surgery and industrial markets. As well as manufacturing single-use and reusable instruments for the laparoscopic market, the Group has pioneered its flagship Resposable® instrumentation combining both single use and reusuable components, ensuring ongoing revenue streams and delivering the optimum procedure performance to cost ratio.

The Company focuses on three principal segments:

  • SI Branded Products – The design and manufacture of Surgical Innovations own successful brand of Resposable®  medical devices.
  • OEM - Supplier to several leading international medical device manufacturers.
  • Industrial - Providing industrial solutions for major international companies.

For the six months ended 30 June 2011, Surgical Innovations announced revenues of £3.2 million. They also invested a £1.36m in manufacturing, research and development during the period. Gross margins in the core MIS business also increased to 42% from 35% in the first half of 2010.

Surgical Innovations will be announcing preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2011 on Tuesday 24 April 2012.
